Preparing for First Semester and a Super Bowl Party

The day we returned home, I headed to the lab to pick up my test results (benign, yay) and then over to the doctor’s office to get my stitches removed.

We came home to rain and more leaks in the roof. The owner hired a man to come fix the roof, so hopefully this won’t be an issue anymore.

During the repair we come home to find this note taped to our front door. The roofer dropped a glass roof tile down into the house while they were working and, since we were gone, the doors were locked. So he left us a note letting us know to be careful of the broken glass that will need to be cleaned up. Good grief. This roof is driving me bananas.

There is a lot to do before the kids come back. We attended training on presenting devotional material, different types of child learning disabilities/issues, development stages, etc.

All the supplies have to be gone through, sorted, cleaned, and culled.

Also, we are expanding our Imperial location from eight kids to thirty this year. We have outgrown our little room and are now remodeling to accommodate the increase in kids. Until the roof is finished, the kids will have activities under this large tent.

Trevor and the boys worked hard to get the building cleaned out before the roofers showed up. They worked so hard.

Liandro had a birthday so we all took a break and headed for all you can eat sushi. Who doesn’t want a belly full of raw fish while working in 90 degrees weather moving large objects.

Of course, the boys are also working on getting their school work done. Mason might not be loving geometry but he likes his classroom pretty well.

It’s not all work, though. We have about thirty people over to watch the Super Bowl.

It was a lot of people for our house but Brazilians have no sense of personal space so they didn’t mind and the Americans were excited to watch the game so no one cared.

People where in the floor, in white plastic chairs, kids all over playing. Like I said, no one cared, especially when you have plenty of food.

Wiffleball is back and the boys couldn’t be happier. Tucker’s tennis coach wants him to move up in lessons but those lessons are on different days and interfere with wiffleball so he decided not to. That’s how much they value this time. It’s so great that they have this time with friends.

Brazil doesn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day until June so it was pretty low key around here, except for some pink pancakes with chocolate hearts.

We are so excited about Vinde starting back. We’ve miss it.
